 Metro Drum School (MDS), in Denver, Colorado, started in 1980 and offers drum lessons for everyone. We're dedicated to the drummers that we train, making sure that they receive high quality drumset lessons on an individual basis, using our in-house teaching method (Drum Germs) while teaching fundamental drum technique centered on "The Moeller Method". We can record the students' drum lessons to DVD for playback and analysis, too. To help the student learn to play drums in a band setting, we have many tools available (music 'minus one' format) free of charge.
Our only job is to make drummers better players! Every drum instructor we have has spent time learning from Gary Lefrancois, MDS master drummer, before they teach drum students. Our goal is to assure that all students receive the best drum instruction:
- learn to read drum music
- develop coordination skills on the drumset
- learn proper hand technique
- develop hand speed
- learn drum beat and drum fill rudiments
- master the key rudiments for hand development
- develop foot control, including double bass
- learn how to create your own drum fills
- learn and develop great time-keeping on the drums
- learn rock beats, blues shuffles, latin, afro-cuban, swing, jazz, and many more!
